2. Clean the fiber connector before connecting it to the device.
3. Insert the fiber connector securely into the VFL port.
4. Switch on the Visual Fault Locator.
5. Follow the fiber path and look for visible red-light leakage around breaks, bends, connectors, or damaged areas.
6. Switch off the device before disconnecting the fiber.

Laser safety warning: Never look directly into the VFL output, an illuminated fiber connector, or the end of the tested cable. Never point the laser toward the eyes.
